About Dr. Pascal Sahoury
Dr. Pascal Sahoury started his education in 1971 at the University of Rome (Italy) at the faculty of Medical Sciences, after graduating and becoming a General Physician (M.D.) he chose to further his education and experience in Amsterdam (The Netherlands).
At the University Hospital of Amsterdam (VU) he studied for another 4 years specializing in Anesthesiology and became a European Certified Anesthesiologist in 1984.
Even as a child seeing his grandfather in pain, due to a diabetic leg wound he knew that he wanted to become a doctor and relieve pain from the suffering. During his specialization studies at the VU he gained even more affinity for Pain Management.
In 1984 in the Daniel den Hoed clinic he was a key player in setting up a specialized Pain Management Team that treated people in their homes or nearby hotels in the city of Rotterdam (The Netherlands). This Mobile Specialized Pain Management Team provided a level of comfort, care and relief for the patient and family which was unprecedented in this field of medicine at that time.
From 1985 to 1995 he worked his craft in the Andreas Hospital as co-founder and manager of the in-hospital Pain Clinic. Also he continued his work as an Anesthesiologist besides his Pain Management duties in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and outside the ICU.
From 1995 to 2000 Dr. Sahoury worked at the Taams Clinic in the island of Curaçao, the Former Netherlands Antilles. He performed his duties as an Anesthesiologist and as a Pain Management Specialist.
In the year 2000 he founded the Dr. Pascal Sahoury Pain Clinic and Medical Center as there was a strong need for his experience, knowledge and services on the Island of Curaçao. Besides being the Medical Director and having a highly capable medical staff he still sees all his patients personally at the clinic and also with his 24/7 Mobile Specialized Pain Management Team. He is renowned for being available to his patients truly 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
He is officially recognized and registered in the United States as an Anesthesiologist and Pain Management Specialist by the American Society of Anesthesiologists (ASA), also by the 'Nederlandse Vereniging voor Anesthesiologie' (NVA). In Europe he is registered as an Anesthesiologist under the BIG registration system based in The Netherlands. To maintain validity of these registrations frequent seminars, workshops and medical congresses have to be attended to keep up on the latest medical developments.
